World Governments and energy supply companies are deeply concerned about the future loading of the energy supply grids and are taking initiatives to reduce the consumption of standby or wasted electricity.
What does it all mean?
In both domestic and commercial environments electrical devices are usually left in standby mode and are not unplugged or switched OFF at the power point.
Some electrical items like VCR’s, computers, etc. require a constant source of power to maintain inbuilt clocks, memory functions and other features. This power is required even when the equipment is not in use and is called standby power.
